Born in 1983 in Bucharest, Romania. Cristian Movila is a Bucharest and New York based documentary photographer. He traveled extensively around the world and had assignments in Europe and Middle East. Touched by the stories of Romanian children suffering of cancer, he dedicated 2 years following closely the children affected by this disease from a Romanian hospital.

In 2008 he launched an exhibition with the stories of the children followed by a humanitarian campaign based on the intimate portrayal of those children with “unfinished dreams”.

“His motivation for photography is driven with energy, enthusiasm and intelligence”, said one friend, the late VII photographer Alexandra Boulst, “He seems to have great abilities to immerse into a situation as if he was no stranger to anybody. The composition and beauty of his photographs are the result of spontaneity and sensibility.”
