Gui Borchert
Gui began his career as a graphic designer and early on switched to the path of interactive advertising. After four years of working on the award-winning Nike account at R/GA, Gui joined Mother New York in July 2007 to pursuit new challenges in integrated advertising.
Most recently he was an associate creative director at R/GA New York. After joining the agency in 2003, he quickly grew into one of the leading creatives on the Nike account. Gui’s strengths include idea generation, conceptual work, design direction and executions. His expertise lies in teamwork and flexibility in integrating his diverse style as needed for client projects across corporate identity, interactive, motion graphics, and typography.
Throughout his career, Gui has done work for some of the world’s most recognized brands including a collaboration with R/GA CEO Bob Greenberg and Stefan Sagmeister on the logo pitch for the NYC2012 Olympic bid. He has worked on illustration projects with leading agencies like Salles D’Arcy and DM9DDB. He also serves as a news editor on the well-respected design site DesignisKinky.net. And in 2001, he founded Eyepunch.com, one of the most recognized design resources in the Brazilian design community.
In 2006 Gui was featured in Print magazine as one the 20 most talented designers under 30. He has won more than two dozen awards including top honors at the industry’s most prestigious competitions including Cannes Titanium Lion,�Cannes Cyber Lion Grand Prix, D&AD Black Pencil and Best of Show in One Show Interactive and Clios. His work has been shown in exhibits and published in numerous magazines and books in Brazil, the United States, Europe, and Asia.
Gui holds a BFA in design from UFRJ (Rio de Janeiro Federal University).
