What is design
The primordial question.
We all know what design is, we all have chosen a definition and made it our own. However, nowhere on this world will you find 2 perfectly matched definitions. Mostly because there’s an enormous number of factors that alter our perception of what’s basically our daily job.
Some see design merely as a job, some as a passion, some as a way they can express and prove themselves, while others try to look a little deeper into the concept. Own perception, lifestyle, consumerism, mass-products, historical events, how do all these influence and determine us to define such a vast domain.
With this in mind I’ve set out to collect as many relevant definitions I can gather. So in every interview, one question will always stay the same : What is design ?
At a certain point, hopefully I’ll be able to make a relevant conclusion. If not, it will still be a great inspirational resource as well as a starting point for later research.

“In my personal opinion design is a creating process where you ‘build’ something from the scratch by using the simplest shapes like circles, lines - for instance, by modifying them. You create something that is usable and very often carry some knowledge and/or information. For me it’s also a way to express myself or a factor that might make my dreams come true and see some more world. “
